Memories In A Notebook

Memories in a notebook, words that haunt me.

Letters on paper, create words that break me.

Feeling of loss and desire created by paper and pen. And a mind who knew me.

Memories in a notebook, letters on paper, create words that haunt and break me.

July 19, 2008

Yes, it has been a while since my last post. What can I say I'm a busy girl.
Well, since my last post...

My brother came down for the 4th of July weekend from Texas. I'm so glad he was able to spend the 4th with my mom and I, since my dad was visiting his parents in Zionsville. My grandpa Humphrey is really sick. We're not sure how long he as. My mom was going to go with him, but decided not to because my brother was coming out to visit.

Another year passed, 14 years... I miss my Daddy Duart to death, but that is life. I try not to dwell or regret too much of my past. All one can do is move forward and learn of the mistakes they've made.

Matt and I are settling into our new apartment. My mom has helped a lot with getting us furniture, odds and ends for the new place. I love my new apartment, it's so cozy.

Today was hectic, Matt and I went to the mountains to feed his friends dogs. When the car broke down. The idle belt broke, I first thought it was the alternator belt just until two seconds ago.

I was able to send one text message out to my Dad, who rescued us! We would of been out there for hours thinking of what to do next. My mom and dad picked us up, drove us to the auto store. We were able to buy the part and repair the car. So that was the excitement of the day.

What a day. It was extremely hot, even in the mountains.

On another note, I have a half sister. I haven't spoken to her since my daddy Duart passed away. We have been in contact, and I'm thankful to have her apart of my life once again.

The years really do pass quickly.
I don't remember much, I was young, but that's all in the past.

Work is work, still pushing those buttons away.

Oh, I never mentioned what I did for a living. I work for a Marketing Company. I'm the Quality Control / Assurance Supervisor. It's an alright job, it pays the bills. Matt works there too. He's the Lead Night Supervisor. We both have the weekends off, which is great since we don't get to see each other much during the weekdays.

Yup, that's pretty much it as of now.

July 4th 1994 RIP

July 4th 1994 12:45am.
Another year passes by... 14 years. I will always love you, my father, my dad, my friend. I'm am blessed and thankful for having you apart of my life for those 9 short years.

Remembered Joy

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free!
I follow the plan God laid for me.
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all...
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss...
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life's been full, I've savoured much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief—
Don't shorten yours with undue grief.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow,
Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.
