Colorado weather got to love it. On the way to the movie theaters (Louisville) Matt says, "Look it's a tornado pointing over the horizon towards the east". I look at him and say, "whatever". We bat back and forth determining if its a tornado or not. I'm of course laughing and saying, "no no it's not a tornado."
Then finally we pull over near a lake and take a closer look. Yes, it was a tornado in Aurora. We where able to take one picture with his cell phone. We don't have a awesome cell phone, (no iphone yet) so the picture is kinda far away, but if you look closely you can see the funnel cloud. (I outlined the funnel cloud) Only one person was injured from the tornado. Some dumb ass who was taking pictures instead of taking shelter. It was raining in Boulder and hailing off and on, so I guess it shouldn't surprise me with all these tornado warnings in Colorado. Anyways we spent a few moments deciding if we should continue with are plan of seeing a movie. At the end we went to the movie.
We went to go see Wolverine and I must say I LOVED IT! I'm a big comic book movie fan of the X-Men series. The way the movie ended really plays well with the X-Men series. I'm excited to see if they plan on making more Wolverine movies to continue the series.
I'm not too worry about getting a tornado in Boulder. The last tornado in Boulder was June 1997. I actually remember this one. I was in 6th grade and my brother was in 8th. It only damage one house (tore the roof off) thankfully. I remember being outside, then hearing all the teachers yelling to get inside. It was raining, hailing and very windy. I remember looking at the tornado and saying how cool it looked. That was my first tornado sighting. Anyways the teachers got all the students inside the building. We where all sitting in the hallway, some kids where even crying. Soon enough the tornado dissappears into the air and we where allowed to leave. I remember stepping outside to get on the school bus. The feeling after a tornado hit, such a erie but comforting feeling. There where big puddles and drizzly rain.
I remember getting home and my mother calling the house franticly. My brother and I just stayed home awaiting my mothers return. We had a plan though incase another tornado hit. We where to go to the mall and stay in the basement floor. For those who don't know, not many houses in Boulder have basements our house at the time being one of them. And that is my first tornado experience.
The chances of a tornado actually hiting where Matt and I live is pretty much impossible I would say. If it did come down to it, we would head to my parents house (2mins away) and take shelter in there basement. Yup, and that was my Sunday adventure.
